George Hummel comes from an old Philadelphia brewing family. He has been homebrewing for over twenty years, winning many awards, including 'Best of Show.' He has collaborated with the Nodding Head brewpub in Philadelphia on their GABF Gold Medal winning 'George's Fault.'

George is a recognized BJCP Beer Judge, a professional member of the Chaine de Rotisseurs, and has been inducted into the Keystone Society of Tourism. He and his wife Nancy own Home Sweet Homebrew, a homebrew supply shop in Philadelphia. They make their home in the city's Brewerytown neighborhood.
