Johanna Burkhard has enjoyed an active career as a food writer, cookbook author and public relations consultant. The author of seven cookbooks including her most recent 500 Best Comfort Food Recipes, Johanna is a former feature writer and weekly columnist with The Montreal Gazette, and a regular contributor to a variety of magazines including LCBO's Food and Drink, Canadian Living and Homemaker's.
Johanna’s past broadcast experience includes weekly cooking appearances on Montreal’s CFCF TV (CTV affiliate) for five years, and as a guest on numerous radio and television shows across the country including Breakfast TV (Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary), and Canada AM as a media spokesperson for her clients and also to promote her own cookbooks.
In addition to cooking demonstrations at consumer shows, Johanna has taught at various cooking schools including Wine Country Cooking School at Strewn Estate Winery, The Good Earth Cooking School in Beamsville and at LCBO cooking schools.
Raised in Southern Ontario, Johanna received a degree in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Western Ontario. She resides in Goodwood, Ontario.
