Lisa Cantkier, BA, BEd, CHN, NNCP, is a passionate Certified Holistic Nutritionist and a health and wellness writer and editor. She is a Holistic Nutritionist at the Integrative and Functional Medicine Clinic in Toronto, one of few functional medicine clinics in the city. Lisa is committed to educating and helping others live well with food allergies/intolerances and special diets.
Living a lifetime with celiac disease has fueled Lisa's interest in special diets and the profound impact nutrition can have on our overall health. Raised by pioneering advocates for celiac disease, her parents were co-founders of the first Toronto chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association and helped bring the very first gluten-free breads and other baked goods into Toronto grocery stores at a time when these foods were only available in hospitals.
A nutrition, health and wellness writer and editor, Lisa is the founder and editor of the wellness directory GlutenFreeFind.com. She is the co-author of Gluten-Free Beginnings Easy Starter Guide, co-authored with Kathy Smart. With hundreds published to her credit, Lisa's articles and recipes have been published in a number of respected print and online publications. Her work has been seen in/recognized by the Los Angeles Times, Microsoft, the municipal government, The Wall Street Journal and Yahoo.com, among others.
Lisa has completed university degrees in psychology and education, as well as a diploma in holistic nutrition. She has also completed numerous related post-graduate courses. Lisa is registered with the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners as a Natural Nutrition Clinical Practitioner (NNCP).
