Breakfast Fruit Smoothie (ideal for kids)

Fruit smoothies made with yogurt are great (easy & fast) ways to provide calcium for growing bodies. This fast and delicious beverage is a breakfast favorite. It also makes a great snack.

Ingredients Makes 11⁄2 cups

1 cup 2% milk 250 mL
1⁄2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries or raspberries 125 mL
1 tsp liquid honey 5 mL
1⁄2 cup vanilla-flavored yogurt 125 mL
1 tbsp wheat germ 15 mL

Instructions

  1. In a blender, process milk and fruit until very smooth. (If there are too many seeds, strain through a sieve, discard seeds and return mixture to blender.)
  2. Add honey, yogurt and wheat germ; process until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
