September 14, 2018

Tanya Linton, author of 150 Best Meals in a Jar says: "I’ve never been a protein drink kind of girl, but if you are on the go and finding time for breakfast is proving to be a challenge, this smoothie is an easy alternative."

Ingredients Makes 1 serving

10 ice cubes 10
1 banana 1
1 cup chocolate-flavored almond milk 250 mL
1⁄2 tsp vanilla extract 2 mL
1⁄4 cup chocolate-flavored protein powder 60 mL
1⁄4 cup plain Greek yogurt 60 mL

  • Blender
  • 1-pint (500 mL) mason jar
  1. In blender, combine ice cubes, banana, almond milk, vanilla, protein powder and yogurt; blend until smooth.
  2. Pour smoothie into jar and serve immediately or seal jar and refrigerate for up to 1 day. If the smoothie separates, shake jar vigorously until smooth.
If you can’t find chocolate-flavored protein powder, use plain protein powder and add 1 tsp (5 mL) unsweetened cocoa powder.
Chocolate Orange Smoothie: Replace the banana with 1 peeled orange.
