Cucumber Aloe Watermelon Juice

Aloe vera isn’t just for soothing burns — it’s also a powerful digestive aid. Try it in this light and refreshing gluten-free juice.

Ingredients Makes 2 cups (500 mL)

1⁄2 English cucumber, halved crosswise 1⁄2
Gel from 1 piece (6 inches/15 cm) fresh aloe vera (see Tips)
4 cups chopped peeled watermelon 1 L


  • Electric juicer
  1. In juicer, process half each of the cucumber, aloe vera gel and watermelon. Repeat with the remaining cucumber, aloe vera and watermelon. Whisk well and serve immediately.
For an added burst of flavor, add 1⁄2 bunch fresh mint to the juicer.
Aloe vera plants are available at most nurseries. To extract gel from an aloe vera leaf: Using a sharp knife, carefully peel the rind off the leaf and discard rind. Carefully peel away the yellow top layer (aloe latex) and discard. Using your fingers, squeeze the aloe gel into the blender.
